Privacy policy

Effective 24 October 2026. This policy covers the English Exam Pro Android app, the web app at app.englishexampro.in and this website (englishexampro.in). We collect what we need to teach you, keep your account safe and take payment. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party ads inside our app. We do advertise English Exam Pro on other platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, and the section on advertising and measurement explains what that involves.

What we collect

  • Your account. Name, email address and phone number, and the exam, timeline and daily study time you tell us when you set up your profile.
  • Your study activity. Your answers, scores, mock tests, progress, mistakes, bookmarks, notes, video progress, and when you last studied. This is what makes your plan, projected marks and revision sets work.
  • What you write to the coach. Messages you send to the AI coach, and the transcript of any voice call with the teacher. The teacher also keeps short notes on how you like to be taught, so the next lesson picks up where you left off.
  • Voice calls. When you talk to the teacher, the app uses your microphone and streams your voice live to our voice provider so the teacher can reply. We do not record the audio. We keep the written transcript only.
  • Photos and voice notes you send us. If you attach a photo or record a voice note in a feedback form, we store that file so our team can read or hear it. We never read your camera roll in the background. The app only opens it when you tap to attach something.
  • Payments. Which plan you bought, the amount, and the payment reference. Your card, UPI or bank details go straight to the payment provider. We never see or store them.
  • How you reached us. The link, creator code or friend invite that brought you here, so we can credit the right person.
  • Device and usage data. App version, device type, the screens you open, and error reports, to find bugs and see which features help.

Why we use it

  • To run your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
  • To build your study plan, mark your answers, show your progress and find your weak areas.
  • To answer your questions through the coach and the teacher.
  • To take payment, apply offers and settle referral rewards.
  • To send you what you asked for, such as your daily practice reminder, or a message about your account.
  • To fix problems, prevent misuse and improve the product.
  • To measure whether our ads on other platforms work, and to show our ads to people likely to find English Exam Pro useful. See advertising and measurement.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run English Exam Pro. We share only what each one needs to do its job, and they may not use it for anything else.

  • Sign-in and security: an identity provider that handles your email, phone number and login codes.
  • AI features: third-party AI providers. When you use the coach, an explanation or the teacher, the question, your message and the context needed to answer it are sent to them.
  • Voice calls: a real-time audio provider that carries your voice between your phone and the teacher.
  • Payments: payment service providers.
  • Messages: email and messaging providers, and WhatsApp or Telegram only if you link those channels to your account.
  • Analytics: tools that show us how the app and website are used, such as which pages are opened and where errors happen.
  • Advertising partners: Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram), for measuring and improving our ads, as described in advertising and measurement below.
  • Hosting and media: cloud hosting, storage and video-streaming providers.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our users and our service.

Advertising and measurement

We advertise English Exam Pro on Facebook and Instagram, which are run by Meta Platforms. To know whether an ad worked, and to show our ads to people likely to be interested, we use the Meta Pixel on this website and Meta's Conversions API on our servers.

When you visit the website, sign up, open our plans, start a checkout or buy a plan, we may share the following with Meta:

  • What happened: the type of action (for example a page visit, a sign-up or a purchase), and for a purchase, the plan and the amount paid.
  • Identifiers in hashed form: your email address, phone number and account ID. Hashing turns each one into a fixed code (using SHA-256) before it leaves our servers. Meta compares that code with the codes of its own users' details to find a match, and the original email or phone number cannot be read back from it.
  • Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, the page address, and the identifiers stored in Meta's cookies (such as the ad-click ID added when you tap one of our ads).

Meta uses this to tell us how many people who saw or tapped an ad went on to sign up or buy, to improve which people see our ads, and to build advertising audiences, for example to avoid showing an offer to someone who has already bought, or to reach people similar to our students. We may also share a hashed list of students' email addresses or phone numbers with Meta for these audiences. We receive only reports and counts from Meta, never your Facebook or Instagram profile.

Meta handles this information under its own terms and privacy policy, available at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

Your choices

  • In your Facebook or Instagram settings, open Your activity off Meta technologies to see and disconnect the activity businesses share with Meta, and Ad preferences to control the ads you see.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website keeps working without them.
  • You can ask us to stop sharing your information with Meta for advertising at any time by writing to the address below. Stopping it does not affect your account or your studies.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website uses cookies and similar storage for three purposes: keeping you signed in and remembering your choices (necessary), understanding how pages are used (analytics), and measuring our ads, including Meta's _fbp and _fbc cookies (advertising). The app stores similar information on your device to keep you signed in and to remember where you came from. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser or phone settings at any time.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and study history for as long as your account is open, so your progress is there when you come back. When you delete your account, the steps below apply. Records of payments are kept by our payment providers for as long as the law requires them to.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account yourself from Profile, at the bottom of the screen. Full steps are on our delete account page. Your account closes straight away. Nothing is destroyed for 30 days, so you can still restore it, and after that your data is deleted for good.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw a consent you have given us, including to sharing for advertising. You can turn off reminders in the app, and unsubscribe from any email with the link at its foot. You can switch off the microphone, camera or photos permission in your phone settings at any time. Voice calls and attachments will stop working, and everything else will keep working. Write to us at the address below and we will reply within 30 days.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to student data inside our team is limited to the people who need it, and is logged. No system is perfectly safe, so choose a login you do not use elsewhere.

Children

English Exam Pro is made for students preparing for competitive exams. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us details, write to us and we will remove them.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date at the top, and tell you in the app when the change matters.

Contact and grievance officer

For any question about your data, to withdraw your consent, or to use any right above, email support@englishexampro.in. Complaints about how we handle your personal data can be addressed to our Grievance Officer at the same address, with "Grievance" in the subject line. We will resolve it within one month of receiving it.
